Region 2 Experience - Member of the American Quarter Horse Association

Home of the Black Hills Stock Show, the Central States Fairgrounds is your location for the Region 2 Experience. You will find a top quality facility ready to assist you with all your equine needs. There are 455 covered stalls within a short walking distance of your competition arena, the event center.

The event center is a full service 150 ft. by 325 ft. arena capable of seating more than 2500 spectators. The warm-up arena connects to the event center and offers you 6,000 square feet of space to prepare your American Quarter Horse before you compete.

Stalls: Stall assignments will be given at the stalling office upon arrival.

Each stall charge includes pre-bedded with one bag of shavings, additional bagged shavings available for purchase at day show OR may order additional pre-bedding with stall requests. Payment for pre-bedding must accompany stall reservations.

Stalls used for tack stalls same price as listings above.

Please Note: Special requests for exhibitors that want to stall together, please send those stall reservations in together to ensure requests met.

Stall office is located in barn area next to the Bray Arena.

Wed., Sept 22^rd           10:00 am – 10:00 pm
Thurs Sept 23^th           8:00 am – 9:00 pm
Fri., Sept 24^th              8:00 am – 9:00 pm
Sat., Sept 25^th             8:00 am – 6:00 pm

SHAVINGS:
Bagged shavings will be available for purchase at fairgrounds through the show office during office hours.

PRE-BEDDING REQUESTS
Shavings may be ordered for pre-bedding. Payment required at time of request & must accompany stall reservation.

DAY CHARGE:
For those horses without stall reservation, a “jump out” fee of $10/horse/day will be charged.

RV HOOKUPS:
If you are not showing and only wish to purchase an RV spot for the event, you can send in the RV form alone (see the Entry, stall, RV info page to download the form).

LODGINGS:

Region 2 Experience Host Hotel:

The Howard Johnson Hotel of Rapid City will be our new host hotel. It is centrally located at 950 North Street in Rapid City (just west of the Civic Center)>

Hotel Rate - $65.00 for a room with two queen beds. All rooms have a refrigerator and microwave, coffee maker and hair dryer. The rate includes a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast, including Belgian waffles, breakfast burritos, bagels, toast, and hot and cold cereals. Breakfast is served from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

There is a complimentary evening reception, Monday to Thursday, with free beer, wine, popcorn and pop.

Please make your reservations as soon as possible. We do have a block of rooms reserved, ask for the booking code AQHA Region II Championship Show. All reservations must be guaranteed with credit card at the time of booking.
